Response from Torrey Park, 15th Ward Democratic Committeewoman Candidate

1. What do you view as the key role, and/or attributes needed for this position? What experience/attributes do you have that qualify you for this position?

The key role of a committeeperson is to serve as a working ambassador of their respective ward organization and the voting public of that ward. They operate as a collaborator and educator in voter outreach through strategic communications and incentives to increase turnout by an informed electorate.

I have been actively involved in the 15th Ward Democrats for almost two years – attending meetings regularly and contributing to a variety of discussions on local issues, candidate endorsements, and the direction of organizational policy and procedure. I have also extensively volunteered my time in canvassing, literature distribution, engaging voters at the polls, and manning shifts at our booth at special events.

2. What do you feel are the most pressing issues currently facing this office and what plans do you have to address these issues? (please be specific)

I recognize that our ward organization is already well-structured and maintained. I see building further off our strengths by recruiting more members and increasing communications. My understanding is this needs to be replicated within the Central Committee as well, mainly through development of social media.

3. Describe how you work with, or will work with, others to address your priorities.

I would meet with members of the Executive Committee in the ward organization, as well as new and existing members of the Central Committee to develop a communications plan that is scalable and sustainable.

4. Who are your 3 largest campaign contributors? Do you have a policy on accepting lobbyist gifts? Are there donors from whom you will not accept campaign contributions?

Dave Boger, Megan Green and my parents. I will not accept any gifts from lobbyists. I prefer to only accept gifts from individuals and groups whose values and policies align with the 15th Ward Democrats.
